Despite having ban in placed on export of Export of Non-basmati rice since 20 July 2023 to stabilize domestic price, India has authorized the export of 1,000 tones of non-basmati white rice to Namibia through the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL). Similar exceptions were extended to countries like Nepal and Philippines.

NCEL, a cooperative society promoted by leading cooperatives like AMUL, IFFCO, KRIBHCO, and NAFED, will handle the export.

Recently, Indian Govt hinted at lifting ban from Export of Non-basmati rice However it will depend on meticulously study of domestic market.
