Konecranes has expanded its Generation 6 lineup with the introduction of the Konecranes Gottwald ESP.4. As the newest and smallest addition to the mobile harbor crane family, the ESP.4 is specifically engineered for smaller seaside and river ports that require versatile cargo handling without a massive footprint.

Despite its compact size, the ESP.4 is designed to efficiently manage growing cargo volumes across multiple segments, including containers, bulk materials, and general or project cargo.
According to Jorg Muller, Vice President of Mobile Harbor Cranes at Konecranes, the crane provides the precise maneuverability and flexibility that smaller terminals need to scale operations. To fit different terminal layouts, operators can deploy the ESP.4 on several bases:
- A five-axle rubber-tired chassis
- A rail-mounted portal
- A barge
The ESP.4 inherits the heavy lifting performance and smart digital tools characteristic of the Generation 6 family. Importantly, it is built to support the Konecranes Ecolifting roadmap, helping ports systematically reduce their emissions.
The crane features a modular electric drive that supports fully electrified operations via external power, as well as hybrid setups utilising batteries or optimised diesel generators.
