Hapag-Lloyd announce peak season surcharge from East Asia to North America

After CMA-CGM, German shipping carrier Hapag-Lloyd has also announced a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from East Asia to North America. The peak season surcharge will be effective from 12 May until further notice.



Hapag-Lloyd has added US$1,000 per Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit(TEU) and US$2,000 per Forty-foot Equivalent Unit(FEU) as Peak Season Surcharge (PSS).

East Asia area includes Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan (PRC), Hong Kong (PRC), China (PRC), Macau (PRC), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines, while North America covers United States and Canada.

Hapag-Lloyd Increase Fare, Added Peak Season Surcharges From India & Pakistan To Middle East

German international shipping and container transportation company, Hapag-Lloyd, announced Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for cargo transportation from Nhava Sheva, Kandla and Mundra (India) and Karachi (Pakistan) to Arabian Gulf and Eastern Province Saudi Arabia

The Peak Season Surcharge is applicable for 20’ and 40’ Dry containers and applies to all containers sailing from Nhava Sheva, Kandla, Mundra (India) and Karachi (Pakistan) from July 1, 2024 until further notice.

For Nhava Sheva, Mundra and Kandla (India), the Peak Season Surcharge is USD 100 while for Karachi (Pakistan) it is USD 150 for both 20’ and 40’ Dry containers.

*Arabian Gulf: UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain and Qatar *Eastern Province Saudi Arabia: Dammam, Riyadh and Jubail in Saudi Arabia.
