Maersk has confirmed an update to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for cargo moving from the Far East to the Middle East. The new surcharges will go into effect on February 25, 2026, and remain valid until further notice.



New Rate Details The carrier has set a flat surcharge across standard container types. Shippers can expect a USD 200 fee for:

45-foot high cube dry containers

20-foot dry containers

40-foot dry containers

This update applies to shipments originating from major export hubs, including China, Vietnam, and Singapore. It covers cargo destined for Middle Eastern markets such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.

These changes do not replace existing local regulatory tariffs or contingency charges. For trades involving US or Chinese regulations, quotations are binding only if they align with filings at the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) or the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.
