MOSOLF Port Logistics & Services (MPLS) has officially launched a new terminal at the Port of Oostende. This strategic move strengthens the company’s North Sea presence, adding critical capacity for vehicle handling, specialized logistics, and technical services.

The new terminal currently spans 80,000 square meters, with the potential to expand up to 200,000 square meters as demand grows.

  • Storage & Services: Capable of storing up to 3,000 vehicles, the site features a dedicated workshop and high-voltage charging infrastructure.
  • Vessel Accommodation: With an 8 to 9-meter draught, the terminal is well-suited for shortsea operations and can comfortably accommodate roughly 80% of the global Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) fleet.

Steffen Klatte, MPLS Managing Director, emphasized the strategic value: “This terminal offers operational flexibility, growth potential, and integration with our existing structures. It strengthens efficiency and resilience in volatile supply chains.”

Beyond standard passenger cars, the site is equipped to manage multimodal vehicle handling and value-added logistics.

Kai Wenhold, General Manager of Port Logistics, noted that the site complements existing flows and opens up entirely new market segments for the group. This expansion aligns perfectly with Oostende’s broader development strategy, which is heavily focused on the blue economy, offshore energy, and specialized logistics.
