MSC Air Cargo is expanding its scheduled operations with a new direct connection between Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG).

The service, set to commence on March 3, strengthens the carrier’s foothold on the critical Asia–Europe trade lane.
Flights will be operated using one of the airline’s Boeing 777-200 freighters. This route is designed to support growing demand for long-haul air cargo capacity, particularly for time sensitive and specialized goods.
The new route builds on MSC’s recent efforts to solidify its Asia-Pacific network.
- SF Express: Last year, MSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SF Express to enhance connectivity and cooperation.
- Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX): A separate MoU with AVINEX aims to develop PVG as a core hub within MSC’s global network.
Jannie Davel, CEO of MSC Air Cargo, emphasized the strategic value of the new link: “The inauguration of our scheduled MXP–PVG service marks an important step in strengthening our long-haul network between Europe and Asia. Shanghai Pudong is a key gateway for global trade, and this route reflects our focus on delivering consistent capacity, reliable operations, and high service standards.”
