The Orlen Group is actively expanding its liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport capacity. In a recent naming ceremony, the company officially took delivery of two new 174,000 cubic meter LNG carriers built by the Hanwha Ocean shipyard.

These new vessels named Danuta Siedzikowna Inka and Rotmistrz Witold Pilecki are designed to directly enhance the stability and flexibility of gas deliveries into Poland. According to Orlen, a single voyage from just one of these ships can deliver enough natural gas to supply up to two million households.

Ireneusz Fąfara, President of the Orlen Management Board, emphasized that this fleet expansion is a core component of securing regional energy independence.

“We are developing not only our own production… but also expanding our trading capabilities by growing our fleet,” Fąfara stated. “Each additional carrier enhances the flexibility of LNG transport to Poland and enables us to ensure stable supplies.”

Secured under a 10 year charter agreement with an option to extend, the new vessels are engineered to call at the majority of LNG terminals worldwide, granting Orlen significant operational flexibility.

With these latest deliveries, the active Orlen LNG carrier fleet now totals eight ships.
