Blue Water Shipping is expanding its presence in the Americas with a new, dedicated reefer department in Chile. This strategic move aims to strengthen the company’s handling of temperature controlled and dry cargo in a vital South American export market.

The expansion enhances Blue Water Shipping’s ability to manage perishable goods while seamlessly integrating these services into its broader global logistics network.

To drive this expansion, Blue Water Shipping has assembled a local team with deep roots in Chilean freight forwarding and perishable logistics. Collectively, the new team brings over four decades of commercial and operational experience across both the reefer and dry cargo sectors.

Working closely with the company’s global network, the Chile team will provide end-to-end logistics solutions, covering:

  • Import and export management

  • Air freight services

  • Sea freight services

  • Specialized reefer and standard dry cargo handling

This localised setup is a direct response to the increasing regional demand for reliable temperature controlled logistics. Chile is a major global exporter of sensitive commodities—including fresh fruit, seafood, and agricultural products—which require precise cold chain management and handling to reach international buyers in peak condition.

Martijin Pentermann, commenting on the expansion, emphasized the immediate value the new team brings to the table. “Our new Reefer setup strengthens how we support our customers, but it also brings in colleagues whose experience and dedication make a real difference from day one,” Pentermann said. “We are genuinely pleased to welcome them, and I’m confident their knowledge of the market and commitment to doing things the right way will benefit both our clients and our wider network.”
