CMA CGM has announced an upcoming increase in Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for cargo moving out of main Asian ports. The new tariff directly impacts shipments bound for destinations across the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa.
These adjusted rates will apply for a brief window, taking effect from March 22 through March 29, 2026, based strictly on the Bill of Lading date. The increases apply broadly across equipment types, covering dry, reefer, out of gauge (OOG) cargo, and paying empty containers.
Updated FAK Pricing by Destination Shippers moving freight into these regions should prepare for the following container rates:
- West Mediterranean: USD 4,700 per 20 foot / USD 6,300 per 40 foot and 40 foot High Cube
- East Mediterranean: USD 4,700 per 20 foot / USD 6,300 per 40 foot and 40 foot High Cube
- Adriatic: USD 4,800 per 20 foot / USD 6,400 per 40 foot and 40 foot High Cube
- Black Sea: USD 4,800 per 20 foot / USD 6,400 per 40 foot and 40 foot High Cube
- Algeria: USD 6,450 per 20 foot / USD 8,800 per 40 foot and 40 foot High Cube
