Editorial Standards

At EximHQ, our editorial standards are built around accuracy, fairness, independence, and clarity. These principles guide how we report, edit, and publish coverage related to shipping, logistics, ports, trade, supply chains, and the wider maritime industry.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertising, commercial relationships, and outside influence. Advertisers, sponsors, and business partners do not control or shape our newsroom coverage.

Any sponsored, paid, or promotional content is clearly labeled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial reporting.

Accuracy and Fairness

We aim to publish information that is accurate, clear, and properly contextualized. We work to present facts fairly and avoid misleading omissions, distortions, or exaggerated claims.

When reporting on developing stories, we do our best to distinguish between confirmed information, official statements, and information that is still emerging.

Sourcing

We prioritize reliable and verifiable sources in our reporting.

Primary Sources

Whenever possible, we rely on primary sources such as:

  • official statements
  • regulatory filings
  • court records
  • government publications
  • company disclosures
  • direct interviews
  • shipping, trade, and port authority announcements

Attribution

We attribute information clearly to its source. When we rely on reporting first published by another outlet, we credit that outlet appropriately.

Anonymous Sources

We use anonymous sources only in limited circumstances, such as when the information is important to the public interest, cannot reasonably be obtained on the record, and the source has direct knowledge of the matter. The identity of anonymous sources must be known to the editor handling the story.

Verification

Before publication, we seek to verify material claims using one or more of the following methods, depending on the nature of the story:

  • corroboration from multiple reliable sources
  • review of official records or documents
  • direct confirmation from involved parties
  • review by editors with relevant subject matter familiarity

Where a claim cannot be independently verified, we aim to present it with appropriate context and attribution rather than overstating certainty.

Corrections and Updates

We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. When needed, we also clarify incomplete or potentially misleading information and update articles as new developments emerge.

For more detail, please see our Corrections & Updates Policy.

Conflicts of Interest

We expect writers and editors to avoid conflicts of interest that may compromise, or appear to compromise, editorial judgment.

Team members should disclose any relevant personal, professional, or financial interest related to a company, sector, or subject they are covering. Where appropriate, we may avoid assigning coverage or include a disclosure for readers.

Press Releases and Contributed Material

We may publish selected press releases, statements, or contributed material that we believe are relevant to our audience. Such content may be edited for clarity, formatting, style, and length.

Where applicable, press releases, contributed content, or sponsored material will be clearly identified so readers understand the nature of the content.

Publication is always at EximHQ’s editorial discretion.

Opinion and Analysis

From time to time, EximHQ may publish analysis, commentary, or opinion-based content. Such pieces should be grounded in facts, clearly reasoned, and distinguished from straight news reporting where appropriate.

Reader Feedback

We welcome reader feedback, especially where it helps improve the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of our reporting. If you believe a story should be corrected or clarified, please contact us.
