Maersk has introduced PSS for US Gulf to the West Coast of South America, effective from 6 May 2026 until further notice.
The surcharge will apply to cargo moving from Houston, Mobile and New Orleans to destinations including Buenaventura, Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Bolivia.
The PSS will be set at USD 150 per 20-foot dry container and USD 300 per 40-foot dry container. This will apply to both spot and non-spot booking will be incur this Surcharge

Maersk added that the surcharge will be collected in line with freight payment terms, while spot bookings are excluded from the application of the PSS.
