Russia’s Black Sea logistics network faced significant disruption overnight as a heavy drone attack targeted the Taman seaport and surrounding infrastructure. The strike caused confirmed damage to fuel storage tanks, warehouses, and port terminals in the settlement of Volna, Temryuk district.

According to Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, air defenses battled Ukrainian UAVs throughout the night. Emergency services deployed 126 personnel and 34 units of equipment to contain several fires resulting from the strikes. Two individuals were hospitalized.

Taman is a critical transshipment point located across the Kerch Strait from Crimea. The facility handles a diverse cargo mix, including oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), grains, and fertilizers. This incident follows a previous attack on the facility in December.

The escalation occurs just days before Russian and Ukrainian negotiators are set to convene in Geneva on Tuesday for US-led peace talks. These meetings aim to end the war, which approaches its four-year mark on February 24.
