The Port of Rotterdam Authority and Evos Rotterdam have officially signed an agreement to construct a new inland shipping berth. This infrastructure project will directly support a major expansion of the Evos terminal located in Europoort.

Currently, the Evos Rotterdam terminal operates 21 tanks with a total capacity of roughly 260,000 cubic meters. Under the new expansion plan, Evos is adding five new storage tanks. This will increase the terminal’s total capacity by 67,500 cubic meters, with the new space dedicated specifically to storing methanol, ethanol, and their bio based equivalents.
To handle the anticipated surge in transhipment volumes from the expanded storage, an additional berth is required. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is taking full responsibility for constructing this new quay, which will also feature integrated shore power infrastructure. The project is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2028.
By managing the construction directly, the port authority ensures the Europoort infrastructure is prepared to handle further capacity growth well beyond this current phase.
This terminal development reinforces Rotterdam’s status as a leading bunkering port and industrial hub for transition fuels.
