Teledyne Marine, a leading marine equipment manufacturer, has delivered four Gavia AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles) to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration/ Försvarets materielverk (FMV). It is part of a multi-year agreement between Teledyne Marine and FMV to modernize underwater surveillance capabilities and efficiency.

The Gavia AUV comes with a wide selection of modular survey and defence sensors available, including SAS, SBP, MBES, SSS, SBP, along with custom payloads, and autonomy options, cameras, environmental sensors and custom payloads. It is enabling rapid reconfiguration for missions including mine countermeasures, hydrography, intelligence collection, seabed mapping, and surveillance.

As of January 2026, Teledyne Marine has delivered over 12,000 APEX floats, 1,275 Slocum gliders (with over 600 to NATO naval users), and Gavia AUV systems have been purchased by 18 navies (16 NATO and NATO-aligned naval users)
