Imabari Shipbuilding has officially delivered the ULTRA DETERMINATION, a new 64,000 DWT bulk carrier. Constructed at the company’s Shin Kasado Dockyard in Japan, the handymax-size vessel brings flexible, modern capacity to the global dry bulk fleet.

Designed under the Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC & OT), the ship is built for maximum cargo flexibility. Each cargo hold features topside and hopper tanks, allowing the vessel to safely transport a wide variety of bulk commodities, including grain, coal, ore, and cement. It is also fully reinforced to load heavy steel products, such as coils and long steel.

To speed up loading and discharge operations at port, the ULTRA DETERMINATION is equipped with four deck cranes and wide cargo hatch openings.

The vessel is fully certified to carry materials regulated under both the IMSBC Code for solid bulk and the IMDG Code for dangerous goods.

The newbuild meets strict international environmental regulations, including the MARPOL Convention and the Ballast Water Management Convention (complete with an onboard treatment system). Built with an eye on the future, the ship complies with Phase 2 CO₂ emission requirements and is actively designed to anticipate upcoming Phase 3 standards.
