Wan Hai has officially placed orders for six additional container vessels to boost its global carrying capacity. Designed to be LNG and dual fuel ready, these new ships support the Taiwanese carrier’s ongoing shift toward more modern and adaptable maritime operations.

Shipyard Contracts and TEU Capacity To execute this fleet expansion, Wan Hai has contracted two different shipyards to build the latest additions to its network:
- Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding: The carrier ordered four ships with a 6,000 TEU capacity. This contract adds directly to the six vessels of the exact same class that Wan Hai previously ordered from the yard. These new ships are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030.
- Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding: Wan Hai also signed a contract for two larger vessels, each boasting a 9,200 TEU capacity.
